Taryn Soto-Rivera has been working at Suffern Central School District for three years. As the Supervisor of Elementary Special Services and English as a New Language (ENL), Taryn is a true #MountieSuperstar. She works closely with teachers and administrators to create new programs for students within the District and ensures all students are receiving the programs and services they need. She assists teachers and administrators in creating new and innovative strategies to address the strengths and needs of our students and doesn’t rest until they’ve reached success. Taryn’s professionalism and follow-through have made her an invaluable part of each of our schools, and her colleagues frequently seek her out for her knowledge of differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners and supports for students who are learning English. She has given presentations to teachers, staff members and administrators on a variety of topics in order to spread her understanding throughout the District.
“There is nothing more exciting than hearing about students who needed support, and are now making progress,” said Taryn. “I feel so fortunate to be a part of a District that allows us to think outside the box and be creative. This year alone, we’ve created a bilingual program, new ENL support programs, and the social communication classes, all with incredible success. I’m proud to be a part of it.”
Taryn notes that the possibilities for our students are endless when we collaborate to provide the services our students need. #MountieSuperstar #SuffernCentral
