The second and fourth-grade students at Viola Elementary School were treated to an interesting and educational presentation by Andrew O’Rourke, the Outreach Coordinator for the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. He explained the process for building the bridge, their use of computer technology to generate the 3D renderings, and showcased some of the artifacts from the construction. Both grades have been studying transportation and this visit connected their curriculum nicely to real-world events. Thanks to the Viola PTA for helping secure this visit.
