The Communications Department manages Suffern Central School District’s digital and print public presence.  Primary media include a newsletter, Excelsior,  published three times a year, and robust district and building websites.

In addition to using the opportunities offered by print and the web, the District connects via social media.  Building principals and central office department leaders maintain Twitter accounts, and the District uses its Facebook page to deliver up-to-the-minute news about students’ achievements as well as staff successes.

Emergency notices and event updates are delivered through ConnectEd, a system for automatic telephone and email messaging. When appropriate, information is communicated via local news and television outlets.

The Communications Department makes use of data collected by district surveys to tailor its communications methods and messages to meet the needs of our diverse community.
