We are extremely proud of Suffern High School senior, Jeffrey Adeclat, who was named a finalist for this season’s “Heart of Giant” award. USA Football’s Heart of a Giant award program, presented by the Hospital for Special Surgery and the New York Giants, aims to recognize Tri-State area high school football players who demonstrate unparalleled work ethic and a passion for the game.
Jeffrey was one of six finalists and one of two from Rockland County. He was recognized at the December 16th Giants game. Being nominated and making it to the finals was a great honor for Jeffrey and he credits his coaches for helping him get to this point.
“I’ve been playing football here since Freshman year. It was the first thing I got involved in when I moved to Suffern, and ever since then it’s been my passion,” said Jeffrey. “I love the adrenaline I get when I play and love being on the field with friends, playing the game and then talking with everyone about the game afterward.”
A linebacker and running back, Jeffrey hopes to play football in college next year. “Suffern is different than any other school in the County,” he adds. “We have things other schools don’t have – and I’ve connected with a lot of people here. The teachers, coaches, and students are all welcoming and it’s a great place to be.”
His coaches feel the same way about him. His outgoing personality and ability to make friends, despite personal hardships throughout his life, has kept Jeffery involved in football and the school. They are proud of his accomplishments and wish him the best as he furthers his career.
