Good afternoon Mounties:
It’s only the third day in May, and I can feel the race to the end of the year already. There are so many events and activities taking place this month and it’s a whirlwind of excitement in the District. This past week alone, we inducted more than 100 students into our National English and History Honor Societies, celebrated our AP Art students during their senior showcase, and inducted 59 talented new musicians into the Music Honor Society during a banquet held on Thursday night.
This Saturday, May 4th, Suffern is proud to be hosting the Mountie Madness Track & Field Invitational, where 14 teams from across New York State will compete in events throughout the day. All are welcome to come to Suffern Middle School between 8 am and 4 pm to see these exceptional athletes.
On Friday, May 10th at 7 pm, Suffern Middle School will host its first “Suffern’s Got Talent,” which will showcase some wonderful talent acts. Organized by the Foundations classroom as part of a Project-based Learning assignment, the event is free and open to the community.
The next Board of Education meeting will be this coming Tuesday, May 7th, in the Suffern Middle School cafeteria. We will be hosting a special reception to recognize the top ten percent of the Suffern High School class of 2019.
Lastly, I’ve added some new dates for office hours for the remainder of the school year. Please reach out to me if you would like to schedule some time.
Have a great weekend!
