The Communications Department manages Suffern Central School District’s public presence through digital and print avenues. In addition to its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram social media pages, the District publishes the newsletter, Excelsior, three times a year, and maintains the District and building websites.
In addition to the District and building social media accounts, many classroom teachers and specialists maintain Twitter accounts and the District uses these outlets to deliver up-to-the-minute news about students’ achievements as well as staff successes.
Emergency notices and event updates are delivered through ConnectEd, a system for automatic telephone and email messaging. When appropriate, information is communicated via local news and television outlets.
The Communications Department makes use of data collected by district surveys to tailor its communications methods and messages to meet the needs of our diverse community.
