Introducing the District’s new K-5 School Counselor, Travis Jackson! His success in SMS for the past 17 years made him a perfect fit for this new role that services our youngest #Mounties.
Jackson’s position was created under NYSED’s new school counselor guidelines and will give him an opportunity to bring his energy, sense of humor, personality and experience to younger Suffern Central students.
Jackson is excited to take on this challenge, work with elementary school teachers and administrators and become a positive and present resource for the students in kindergarten through fifth grade. He will provide activities and lessons on topics related to social/emotional development, academic success and early college/career awareness and will be assisting in the implementation of District-wide initiatives such as Yale E.I. and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
