Today the students of RP Connor Elementary School learned about car and pedestrian safety from AAA Northeast safety expert Karen Blackburn. She spoke about car seats, seatbelts and driving while texting and talking on the phone. This event is aimed at empowering students to take safety into their own hands by knowing the rules of the road.

On Saturday, the school will continue these conversations with the RP Connor community during their annual Bike Rodeo and Car Seat Safety celebration. Representatives from the Suffern Police Department and the Village of Suffern will be checking bikes and cars and thanks to the Westchester Medical Center‘s Dream Foundation, the school will give out more than 130 bicycle helmets to kids in need.
