On Friday, May 10 close to 100 people attended the Sloatsburg Elementary School Multicultural evening. This was an interactive event that featured many different family-run tables filled with artifacts and food from the US, Mexico, Greece, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, Belarus, Filipinos, Paraguay, Italy, Ireland, Honduras, Cuba, Croatia, France, and Columbia.
In addition, there were quite a few performers throughout the evening. Thanks to Tagaste Monastery, Rockland County Class ofFilipino School of NY & NJ, Korean Fan Dancers, Korean Drummers, Mr. & Mrs. Diaz for teaching us Salsa dancing, and Mr. McDonough for singing Irish songs.
We are also grateful to have the continued support of the teachers and staff and the Sloatsburg PTA, who all showed their support that night.
It’s great that we as a District have these programs that embrace the many cultures that make up our student population. We look forward to many more of these great nights!
