Welcome to Sloatsburg Elementary School! I am honored to be working in such a great community school and I look forward to getting to know all the families here.
Prior to accepting this position, I was an Assistant Principal at Suffern High School and worked closely with teachers, administrators and community members to roll out new programs and assist students with learning needs. Before that, I was the Elementary Supervisor for Special Education at SCSD, and managed the relationship between the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) division and all five elementary schools, ensuring students’ needs were met by providing leadership and overseeing instructional programs and offerings. My career in education began as a teacher in the Washingtonville Central School District before moving first to Rockland BOCES as an Assistant Principal and Principal in a K-12 District-based role, and then to SCSD.
Together, the Sloatsburg team works towards advancing the Suffern Central School District’s mission of “Educating for Personal Excellence,” while also “Inspiring Students to Believe in Themselves as They Reach Their Highest Potential.” Through offering an instructional program that builds students’ sense of belonging, engagement and achievement, it is their aim to foster: literate, critical thinkers, who possess creativity, character and practice healthy living.
