Congratulations Suffern Robotics!
Among their many talents, the Suffern High School Robotics Team is known for their extensive community outreach. Whether working with younger students to teach them about robotics, meeting with community businesses and organizations to educate them about the program, or showcasing their robots at street fairs and events, they are always sharing their knowledge with those around them. Because of this, the team was internationally recognized at this past weekend’s FIRST World Competition, chosen as one of four finalists for the FIRST Connect Award.
This judged award was given to four teams that most connect with their local science, technology, engineering and math community. A true FIRST team is more than a sum of its parts and recognizes that engaging their local STEM community plays an essential part in their success. The award recognizes teams that help the community understand FIRST, the FIRST Tech Challenge, and the Team itself.
In addition to that award, the team finished 58th out of 80 teams in their division and members met and networked with many teams from around the world. It was a great experience for all! Thanks to everyone at Suffern High School and in the community for supporting the team this year.
