We are pleased to welcome Melissa Monaco to Suffern High School’s administrative team as an Assistant Principal (AP). Currently, Ms. Monaco is an AP at Suffern Middle School and will transfer to the high school in early October.
Ms. Monaco has served in the District for the past 11 years, first as a middle school science teacher and then as Assistant Principal.
“We are excited to welcome Melissa to the team,” said Principal Pat Breen. “Her expertise in curriculum design and her ability to foster collaboration both among students and faculty is a tremendous asset. Melissa is also well versed in AVID, an academic program designed to promote four-year college admission rates for first-generation college-bound students. Suffern High School is excited to bring Melissa on board as we continually seek to improve and adapt to the needs of all of our students.”
Ms. Monaco earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Scranton, a Masters of Science in Adolescent Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Leadership from SUNY New Paltz.
“It has been my goal to work with high school students and I’m very excited for this opportunity,” said Monaco. “In my new role, I hope to embrace new challenges and continue to foster the growth of students who began their journey in my life in middle school.”
