Over the past few days, all Suffern High School students participated in student safety and preparedness assemblies in which school administrators and our School Resource Officers from the Town of Ramapo Police Department, presented information to help students feel more prepared in the event an emergency occurs at school. They discussed safety protocols, the importance of being aware of surroundings, and how in many cases situational emergencies will require different responses based on the circumstances. The assembly also touched on past and future safety drills and what happens when an emergency occurs during different periods of the day (e.g. unit lunch and between classes).

Over the next several weeks and months, the high school will continue to conduct staff and student training drills designed to refine the practices and protocols discussed. We are appreciative of all the help the Ramapo Police provides to us on a daily basis and we thank them for their continued support of our high school.
