We would like to take a moment to recognize Olivia Gigante and Nicole Nash, two outstanding Suffern Middle School students, for their continuing work in helping the Hudson Valley Humane Society and the Center for Safety & Change promote this much-needed program for domestic abuse victims.

The girls are working towards their Silver Award project for Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc., troop 40455 and chose this project because they are both huge animal lovers. When they heard about the huge impact this project has in keeping animals safe until they are able to be reunited with their families, they were excited to take it on.

What a great example of how community service and passion projects can change the lives of humans and their furry friends.
