Suffern Central Leads the Way in Project-Based Learning
On Thursday, May 23, school district leaders and teachers from across the region gathered in Westchester for the LHRIC Instructional Technology Tech Expo, a yearly event designed to showcase teaching and learning practices that various districts have implemented throughout the year.
As part of the program this year, Suffern Central was asked to present on how we infused technology into our project-based learning program. With the help of 5th graders from Montebello and Viola Elementary Schools, Ken Wojehowski, Beverly Levine, Kevin McCarren, and Jamie Haug spoke about how iMovie and Augmented Reality enhanced their specific projects. The students were well spoken and engaging and even jumped in to answer questions during the Q&A portion of the presentation.
We are so proud of all of them – and of our PBL program and cannot wait to see what next year brings!
